| BLM Lands in Alaska Bureau of Land Management (BLM) controls some of Alaska's most diverse, spectacular, and unprotected wilderness areas. The BLM manages more than 70 million acres in Alaska (once all remaining state and Native land transfers have been completed), yet not so much as an acre has been designated as BLM wilderness. With minor exceptions, BLM has never done a comprehensive inventory of the wilderness characteristics of these lands. Download the PDF (blm.pdf, 2.55 Mb)
