Chugach National Forest - Rock and Ice Map

The Chugach National Forest's Preferred Alternative proposes 1,801,941.5 acres of wilderness designation. However, based on analysis using landcover classification data from the Forest Service, 1,174,108.6 acres are representative of ice, snow, rock, mud and sand. This represents 65.2 percent of the proposed wilderness.
