| Identified Wildlife Corridors in Alaska Based on Elevation
Habitat fragmentation is a leading cause of extinction world wide. As a result, landscape connectivity has become a vital component in conservation science and land management planning. High levels of connectivity mean greater potential for species to maintain healthy populations. Utilizing a digital elevation model analysis, this map identifies migration corridors between Alaska's Conservation System Units.
32% of all land in the identified corridors is managed by BLM.
