Tongass National Forest

At the heart of the world's largest remaining temperate rainforest, the Tongass National Forest spans 500 awe-inspiring miles of Alaska's coast. This landscape of ice-capped peaks, hanging glaciers, fog-shrouded islands, wild and scenic rivers and towering groves of ancient trees supports the world's largest concentrations of grizzly bears and bald eagles.
